Jesus came to bring transformation not only to the human race - but to me - and to you.
As Christians we celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus - the promised Messiah. Jesus came to bring hope, forgiveness, and change the hearts of people. Christmas is a season marked by transformations.
In fact, the Christmas account (recorded in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew) record several distinct transformations that occurred because Jesus was born.
In this two week illustrated sermon we explore the transformations of Christmas through a dramatic and illustrated format of teaching. The plan of Christmas does not only include a select set of transformations 2000 years ago, it also includes the transformations of this year - this Christmas season.

There is no secret to the fact that we all make mistakes in life. Some mistakes are simple to fix, others create remorse and guilt that can last for years.
Condemnation is that heavy feeling of intense remorse over our failure. Condemnation interferes sometimes with our prayer life, our service to man, and our relationship with God himself. That is why the declaration of Romans 8:1 is so powerful: Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
This statement is so powerful, so incredible, so liberating, so almost unbelievable, that it took the author of Romans the next 38 verses to describe how it is even possible.

Matthew 1:23 says, "The virgin will be with child and she will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel" (which means "God with us"). "Immanuel" underscores God's love for us and his effort to be with us. What a profound revelation of the character of God. |

God uses people. What an incredible thought!
But what kind of people does God use?
The men that Jesus chose to work with him and to be used by God in his earthly ministry all had a common characteristic – they were ordinary.
It's sad how many people dismiss who they are, what they know, and what they can do in the light of being used by God. Somehow we have idealized the characters of scripture to the point that we have forgotten how ordinary, how full of flaws they really were. Somehow the reality of who these men were has been replaced by an image that is etched in stained glass – an idea that they were perfect.
In this Sunday morning series we will look at the 12 disciples and why Jesus chose them – what it was about them that made them usable – what their weaknesses and flaws were – but also why they were able to accomplish something for God's kingdom. |

There are days you will never forget - events that will change everything - events that so completely catch you by surprise that it simply knocks the wind out of you, it creates damage, and is classified as an attack.
The elimination of trouble is not the objective. The simple fact is: Life has trouble. Preparation, standing strong, and moving ahead - despite the difficulty - is the key to handling adversities.
Listen as Pastor Bret Allen and Pastor Matt Clayton speak on how to handle the "Surprise Attacks" of life. |

God's desire is that we make a positive impact in our world - no matter the circumstance that we find ourselves in. He understands our weaknesses, fears, and feelings of inadequacy. And yet, he stands ready to empower us with what we need to accomplish the great things that He desires.
In this Sunday morning series, we are studying the life of Joshua. God gave Joshua the charge to conquer a violent, terrible part of his world. Throughout this study we will learn how we individually can be salt and light - to make a significant impact in our own part of the world.

Few of us would debate the fact that we all deal with conflict - physically, relationally, spiritually, and financially. "How To" books are a multi-million dollar industry because people want to know how to deal with the issues they face in life.
The best approach to dealing with difficult situations is to stand firm instead of faltering, stumbling, or retreating under pressure. The question is, "How do I do that?"
Listen as Pastor Allen addresses this topic of "Standing Firm" as is discussed in Philippians 4 and throughout scripture.

Frequently in our lives, when something is going on, we tend to share our own personal perspective of the situation. We always know what we think about our life, but very rarely are we aware of God's perspective on our set of circumstances. Whether we are trying to raise children at home or trying to run a business, God has a perspective and wisdom that he will freely give us - if we ask.
So, what is wisdom? Wisdom is understanding things from God's viewpoint. God knows how you feel and how you think. He knows who you are and how you function. He knows your likes and dislikes, your dreams and desires, your fears and hurts. He knows what brings you joy, what creates peace, and what gives you feelings of fulfillment. God knows every detail of every circumstance of your life. All you have to do is make a choice.

Jesus had a unique ability to teach in a manner that made Biblical truth applicable to real life for the average person. In Biblical times, as in modern times, there are many who are willing to report spiritual principles in a theological manner. Jesus, however, took time to make certain that truth was delivered in a usable fashion with every day application in mind.
Jesus used stories - parables to drive his point home. His goal was to teach profound truth that would in turn be utilized by real people in a real world.
It is important for us to understand what Jesus said about theological items. When we understand what he said, we understand important truth - in a practical manner.
In this six part series we will explore the Lord’s teachings - and by doing so, we will gain a clearer understanding of what Jesus saw as significant and how to apply his teachings for the purpose he intended - transformation of life. |
